BIONEERS' EVENING AT THE ELLEN ECCLES THEATRE - OCT 28th

One week before the start of our regular Bioneers Sustainability Conference (November 3, 4 and 5 on the USU campus), on Friday, October 28th, the Bioneers' will present their 6th annual free and open to the public Bioneers' event at the Ellen Eccles Theatre in Logan from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. The theme for our evening is, "Having a Bad Air Day?" LDS historian and author, and wonderful teller of stories, Kenneth Godfrey will talk about stewardship of the earth.

Brian Moench, MD.The keynote speaker will be Brian Moench, M.D., a Salt Lake City anesthesiologist who is also president of the Utah Physicians for a Healthy Environment. He is an expert on the damage airborne particulate matter can cause to humans. Their organization is dedicated to protecting the health and well-being of the citizens of Utah by promoting science-based education and interventions that result in progressive, measurable improvements to the environment. They encourage the development of renewable sources of energy, such as wind, as an essential step toward avoiding the unhealthy consequences of our excessive reliance on coal and petroleum. We believe that there are several solutions that if enacted, could dramatically improve the air quality in Utah, and thereby significantly improve the health of our citizens.

The evening will conclude with a brand new, first time performed program from the popular Fry Street Quartet. They are well known in Utah and across the nation. Their new program is entitled "Crossroads." It will combine their music with imagery and narration provided by physicist Robert Davies, all dealing with the crossroads we humans are facing regarding which path we are going to take. Will it be towards a more sustainable healthy world, or with our heads firmly planted in the sand of a toxic world. We have produced five excellent "Evening With the Bioneers" programs as a gift from the Bioneers to our northern Utah public. This may well be our best production. We think this is a not to be missed evening. Please join us.
