ABOUT THE AVA
The Alliance for the Varied Arts is a volunteer community arts organization that operates a gallery in the Thatcher-Young Mansion and offers a variety of artistic opportunites and creative classes for the benefit of the general public. The AVA classes include ceramics, creative writing, dance, drama, music, photography, and visual arts for children and adults. The AVA art gallery often features the art of local artists, as well as annual shows such as An Exhibition of Women Artists, to honor Women's History month, the Marie Eccles Caine Foundation Local High School Students Show, the Cache Valley Chapter of the Utah Watercolor Society, Art-O-Rama, the Annual Juried Exhibition, and a Holiday Gift and Gallery Show.
Additional offerings by the AVA include the weekly Unicorn Theatre matinees for children, workshops, Children's Dance Theater, Children's Summer Art Camp, visiting artists, Fine Arts Auction, Christmas events, and gallery openings.
The AVA's school and outreach programs in drama, dance, bookmaking, puppetmaking, and weaving provide the public with exposure to professional artists as teachers and performers.
The AVA is supported, in part, by generous grants from the Marie Eccles Caine Foundation, the Utah Arts Council, and the City of Logan.
Each year AVA organizes their annual Halloween Fundraiser party called the "Midnight and Crimson" Masquerade Ball. Watch for details...
